I’m sitting in the Winnipeg International Airport waiting for my flight to Cincinnati. I have some time to spare so voila… a new blog post entry!!!
I made it through security unscathed with no rectal exam. I was in no mood for that kind of intimacy anyways.
After striking up several jovial conversations with every single agent that I encountered, I was reminded that we swim in a sea of connection. This is the new economy. Funny thing about that statement is that connectivity was always the economy. We just call it new.
As I write this, I take a moment to poke my head up from my laptop to notice three other laptop burrowers and several cell phone junkies. We’re born alone and we die alone but we make all sorts of amazing connections along the way. I’m okay with this because I believe that we take these connections with us from A to Beyond. Mark Zuckerburg wins with Facebook because he embraces this simple concept that people need to connect with something beyond themselves. The caution of this cyber-world unity however is that when the power goes down, we’re left with a billion people staring at blank screens as the true social anxious reality sets in.
In the spirit of that I encourage you to stop reading this and strike up some conversations today, even if these conversations are weather based. Smiles are spreadable and the world needs more smiles.
Gotta go. Flight time:)
